The freeform, landscaped pools provide guests with great views of the volcano and a multitude of options.  These Arenal hot springs with temperatures ranging from 83 ˚F to 103˚F and environments that vary from raging waterfalls to tranquil forest experiences.

Lost Springs is a connected system of trails and seven spring fed pools located within a forest canyon. The trail to these Hot and Cold Springs, called the Heliconia Walk, is lined with different species of flowering Heliconias along with beautiful rainforest trees, plants and vines. In the center of these pools is a small jungle bar called Los Perdidos (The Lost Ones) along with a water flume called the Monkey Slide. These pools range in temperature from 91˚F to 104˚F. A nice dinner included on site will make the perfect end for a wonderful day in Paradise.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is transportation included?

Transportation can be included to and from Los Perdidos Hot Springs, you can choose the time you want to get picked up at and we will coordinate all details for you. There are many hotels in the area and the driving time will vary, it can be at 20 minutes away from hotels located in La Fortuna town, 15 or 20 minutes away depending on your location. If you are going on any of our tours and wish to add Los Perdidos please let us know, we can drop you off and you can save one way of transportation.


What time can I enter the facilities?

Los Perdidos Hot Springs will be open to public from 9am to 10pm, you can arrive at any time as desire, it is convenient so you can get there after any activities you program during the day.


Are there any meals included?

You can ask us for entrance fee only or with one meal included, either lunch or dinner. Which one do you prefer?


Is it recommended for pregnant woman?

It is NOT recommended, it can cause a series of risks for the baby, it is recommended that the mother’s temperature to be kept below the 102.2 F, when on the hot springs it can easily take 10-20 minutes to get the body temperature to raise.


Can kids have access to the hot springs?

Los Perdidos is kids friendly, other than pregnant women everyone can go to the hot springs, it is relaxing and fun and the minerals get to enter the bodies for some cleansing too. There can be found many pools of different depths and temperatures, just look for the ones that can be adjusted to your kids size and temperature.


What clothing should wear?

Don’t forget the bathing suit and a change of clothes There will be changing rooms and showers available.


Can I keep my belongings away?

Sure, there are lockers available, it will be required a $20 deposit which includes the locker, once the locker key has been returned so will be the deposit. The deposit can be accepted in cash or credit card.


Should I bring my own towel?

Is not necessary, you can get fresh towels at the facilities.


Should bring a camera or phone?

Sure, keep in mind it will be under your supervision and we highly recommend a waterproof case.


What happens if rains?

If a shower or rain happens during the time at the hot springs, nothing happens, is all part of being in the rainforest, is actually quite nice to feel the cold rain water and while being on one of the pools. But if you see some lightning we recommend to stay outside, these don’t last long anyway.


Do I need to book in advance?

There is a maximum of people allowed per day, is better to book in advance, specially if will be travelling for peak and high season (December to April).


What is the cancellation policy?

Throughout the year cancellation will be without penalty if notified 24 hours in advance, if notified within less time a full penalty will be applied.


Is transportation offered from other destinations?

Yes, we offer pick up and drop off to most destinations in the country, please contact us to coordinate it and quote the extra fee.


Is water natural?

The hot springs water come from natural hot springs below ground brought from the veins of the volcano and it’s filled with healing qualities. Natural thermal mineral waters flow from deep underground into the many pools. The temperature varies from 34 to 42 degrees Celsius, offering you the opportunity to experience bathing just the way you like it.


What's the weather like in Arenal?

We have in Arenal Tropical weather, it means is usually hot and humid with some rain always on the sight, not heavy rain, usually sun showers towards the end of the afternoon or late evenings. During the months of January, February, March which are considered to be summer, temperature goes between 28°-32° Celsius or 82-90 Fahrenheit and during the rainy season it varies from 22°-28° centigrades or 71-82 Fahrenheit.
