What to bring to Arenal

This information will help you come prepared to the Arenal area:
Each person has its own preference when travelling to the Arenal area, most people will go on hikes and prefer long pants vs shorts, yoga or workout outfits are also very common since these usually dry quick.
You can bring or buy while in Costa Rica mosquito repellent and sunscreen, you can find them at any supermarket or drugstore in town.
About shoes, there are many options, hiking shoes will be required if wish to visit the waterfall, the volcano national park, Rio Celeste or other naturalist guided tours in the forest, sneakers will also work just fine as long as you feel comfortable.
Closed toe shoes or closed toe sport sandals will be required if thinking of some adrenaline adventures like zipline, rafting, waterfall rappelling, tubing, etc.
It's recommended to bring a small towel to some tours, don't forget the camera or phone to treasure special moments and unique views but make sure it comes with its water proof bag.
A small backpack may also be required so you can take while out in excursions your personal belongings: some cash, camera or phone, change of clothing, small towel and others.
A light sweater at night may be useful and a rain jacket, keep in mind this is the rainforest and are occasional showers. Temperature varies from the low 70s to the very high 80s plus humidity, especially during the day.
Sunglasses and hat are a good idea to have handy if you are not used to be exposed to a climate like ours.
