These hot springs are part of a 5 star resort called The Springs Resort and Spa. There are 18 pools available ranging from 83º F to 103º F. The resort offers pools at the base of the main restaurants and lobby, as well as it offers a more private and secluded area with a jungle bar in the middle for those who enjoy a good cocktail while feeling the relaxation of the hot mineral springs.
Having a knowledgeable guide is essential to the enjoyment of a guided walk. Our guide, Tony, was terrific, seeing animals and birds we never would have seen on our own. I would highly recommend them to anyone wanting to really learn about Costa Rica wildlife in Arenal.
Tony was an EXCELLENT tour guide. Like everyone else here says, he was knowledgeable, friendly, and excellent at spotting cool stuff. He brought along a scope and helped me get a picture of a viper that could go in National Geographic.... with my SMART PHONE! We did the 4 in 1 package and he showed us around the waterfall and the volcano hike. It was all absolutely gorgeous. Friends and family are loving the pictures, but jealous as all hell.
Our driver was awesome as well. Since we were doing the all-day deal, we had lunch at a local's house... turns out it was our driver's house. His wife prepared an EXCELLENT home-cooked Costa Rican meal. I'm a big eater and for a full day of activities, this REALLY hit the spot. Afterwards, we took a little break exploring his backyard where he has all types of trees (cocao, plantain, etc.) and a few animals. We even saw a sloth just lounging around back there. I could go on and on. Just check these guys out.
We had a wonderful time with Rainforest Explorers. Tony, our guide, was very knowledgeable, answered all of our questions and helped us take photos. The hanging bridges were a lot of fun and the waterfall and lava flow was beautiful! I would recommend these tours highly!
The cornerstone of our experience was our guide. Tony was warm, professional and had a very keen eye for spotting wildlife. It was one of our favourite days in Costa Rica. Highly recommended.
